Where to Live in 2008
TODAY is the start of Lent. Where do you want to live if you want to vacate at where you are living right now. There are certainly lots of factors to consider depending on the circumstances surrounding your holistic existence. First of all, are you living alone? If you are living alone, can you afford to buy a villa for yourself? Can you afford to hire a butler? Are you not afraid to live alone? If you have a family, where are you working? Are you working as a fisherman near the shore? Would you rather prefer living in a boathouse or in a trailer park and just let your fixed property be leased to others? Is leasing property nowadays a feasible business?
Are you currently living in New Jersey suburbia but your place of work is Brooklyn and you get late for work because you’re stuck in traffic? Or are you living in the congested confines of your flat suite in Paris or Manhattan? Or do you want to breathe the fresh air in the rolling hills of Ireland or in one of those luxurious Buenos Aires apartments? There are certainly hundreds of questions which you can formulate while buying a house. And another important thing, you must avail of the services of a real estate agent which can be trusted.
Should you decide to buy a piece of property already and there is still a debt associated with it, do you want to inherit the debt or does the debt obligation go to the previous owner? For these questions, you need an attorney to represent you. And that is why during a home inspection tour, a lawyer must be present because he will look into the legal aspects of the deal.
But a technical home inspection team usually consists of a lot of people. The architect will evaluate on whether the structure needs a total overhauling so it will be more attractive and feasible to look at. The interior designer looks at the blueprints of the insides of the house. The plumber looks deeper than that into the bowels of the house itself where murky things exist such as the dirt coming from your sink. The exterminator will accompany him so that he can judge on whether termites and other unwanted vermin have already infested the property in question. But you can judge the presence of vermin of course based from the leaves of the plants surrounding your house. They are withering.
Of course, your whole family must be present at this home inspection too. Your five-year-old daughter may want to set up a swimming pool within the property. You may want to have an alarm system installed. In the 1960s when people were too obsessed with the Cold War, they constructed nuclear shelters. Nowadays, people are more afraid of home invasions in middle-class suburbian neighborhoods. That’s why panic rooms are already a trend nowadays. So whether you’re located in the United States or Israel, there are a lot of things home inspectors need to look at before it is already satisfactory for you to buy that piece of property.
